1953 case back design
A rugged elusiveness captured through time
Each 1953 piece started out as an idea to evolve and perfect a design. Unlike Herschberger Watch designs, each 1953 watch is based on a commercially available dials, cases, and hands. Although they resemble popular watches, Tim will not make a 1953 model that strikes too close to an original. If you want a Submariner that is a production model, Rolex sells them. If you want a Seamaster, Omega sells them. If you want a Nautilus, Patek Philippe sells them. If you want the dial to say Seiko, buy a Seiko. The list goes on, but you get the point.
Each 1953 watch comes with an engraved case back, with Tim preferring to use solid steel. The engraving captures the heights of watch put togethering with the mountains, and a rugged elusiveness through the eyes of a snow leopard. They are sequentially numbered and bear the Herschberger Watch Company logo and Sioux Falls, SD designation. No water-resistance testing has been done, though Tim hopes to someday get a testing machine to do so.
